Hey, The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale Really Is This Friday (Editorial)

The UFC will add another title to the collection this Friday night, as Nicco Montano and Roxanne Modafferi collide for the inaugural female flyweight belt.

Montano and Sijara Eubanks each advanced through the tournament on the recent season of The Ultimate Fighter, scoring upsets in the semifinals vs. the top two seeds in Modafferi and Barb Honchak. Eubanks was the No. 12 seed and coached by Eddie Alvarez, with Montano securing the 14th-seed and was coached by Justin Gaethje.

However, Eubanks was ruled ineligible to compete after failing to weigh-in on Thursday, as she was forced to the hospital. Officials inserted Modafferi into the title contest.

During her run to the finals Montano upset Lauren Murphy via decision and downed Montana Stewart.

Lauren Murphy replaces Modafferi and faces Honchak as part of Friday’s FOX Sports 1 card from Las Vegas, battling it out on the main card. Five other flyweight tilts are also scheduled, along with four fights involving male fighters including Sean O’Malley vs. Terrion Ware and Joe Soto vs. Brett Johns.

FightLine will have results and post-fight information following Friday’s card.
