Just as everyone expected, the UFC on FOX 29 main event delivered, as Dustin Poirier scored a victory over Justin Gaethje.

Poirier put on an all-out attack a minute into the fourth round, stopping the former World Series of Fighting champion to conclude the night.

For “The Diamond,” the win was his seventh in his last nine fights overall and second straight stoppage. Poirier is 7-1 with a no-contest since a loss to former UFC champion Conor McGregor, besting Gaethje, ex-UFC champion Anthony Pettis and Jim Miller during his run.

Gaethje suffered his second consecutive loss after winning his first 18 fights, as he was knocked out by Eddie Alvarez last December.

The two were awarded “Fight of the Night” honors to the surprise of no one.

Alex Oliveira took advantage of his spot, scoring a second round submission over former interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit in the co-main event. Condit was originally scheduled to face Matt Brown, but a torn ACL allowed Oliveira to step in on short notice.

Oliveira, a 30-year-old from Brazil, is now 19-4-1 with two no-contests in his career, including a 5-1 record with a no-contest over his last seven. He has finished Condit, Ryan LaFlare, Tim Means and former Bellator champion Will Brooks.

Condit, meanwhile, is just 2-6 over his last eight fights and on a four-fight losing skid.
