After jumping the gun last week, UFC officials made an announcement concerning The Ultimate Fighter and the creation of a female flyweight division recently.

The upcoming 26th season of the show will indeed featured female 125-pound fighters competing for the UFC title.

Last week, a press release was sent out stating the same. However, UFC president Dana White retracted it shortly after.

The series begins filming in July and will air on FOX Sports 1 later this year. Current UFC fighters who can make weight are eligible to attend the tryout in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 23.
