With more and more female fights being added to cards, it has become the norm that the “ladies” steal the show.

At UFC Fight Night 129, we might see that once again.

With all the changes that went down leading up to Saturday’s card from Santiago, Chile, we ended up with an exciting strawweight co-main event between Alexa Grasso and the unbeaten Tatiana Suarez.

These are two fighters who love to bring the intensity and action to the Octagon – and you can bet they’ll do the same live on FOX Sports 1.

Grasso (10-1) rebounded from her first pro loss last August by earning a split decision over Randa Markos in Mexico. The thrill of the victory was overshadowed by her missing weight, but this is a fighter that already has two “Performance of the Night” bonuses from her unbeaten run in Invicta FC to her credit.

Along with besting Markos, Grasso also holds wins over heather Jo Clark, Jodie Esquibel, Mizuki Inoue and Alida Gray. Her lone loss was a decision in early 2017 vs. Felice Herrig.

Suarez, who claimed the title of Ultimate Fighter in 2016 with a first round submission via D’arce choke over Amanda Cooper, followed that showing up with a decision vs. Viviane Pereira last November. Her victory over Cooper earned a “Performance of the Night” bonus.

During TUF, Suarez earned submissions vs. Kate Jackson and JJ Aldrich, along with a decision win. She’s a perfect 5-0 in her pro career, with the three TUF wins and another two victories as an amateur to her credit.

With the strawweight division still new, both of these fighters have a golden opportunity to take the spotlight on FS1 and give themselves a huge push moving into the summer in the UFC.
