With UFC 211 in the books, the promotion can now move forward with its 2017 schedule. Next up will be UFC Fight Night 109 on May 28 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Ericsson Globe arena in Stockholm, Sweden, which will feature a main event clash between former light heavyweight title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira.
In effort to prepare fans for the late-May action, UFC has released throwback footage of Teixeira dismantling former UFC light heavyweight contender Ryan Bader. The main event bout, which went down at UFC Fight Night 28 in Brazil back in 2013, features a first-round knockout finish by Teixeira. After Bader opened up along the cage and attempted to trade inside with the heavy-handed Brazilian, Teixeira landed a beautiful left hook counter and slept him.
At UFC Fight Night 109, Teixeira will look to expand on his 2017 success after defeating former heavyweight Jared Cannonier at UFC 208. If Teixeira is able to defeat Gustafsson and knock off one of the best 205-pound fighters of the last five years, he may very well put himself on the alarmingly short list of title contenders entering 2018
