Don’t laugh, but there is an interesting bantamweight bout set for the UFC Fight Pass prelims of UFC 227 this Saturday night.

More from Fightline

The fight pits Ricardo Ramos against Kyung Ho Hang, and with two titles on the line later in the night, it will likely go unnoticed by most.

But here me out as to why this is a key fight, and has the potential to earn “Fight of the Night” status.

Both Ramos and Kang have plenty to fight for, so let’s start with Ramos.

Just 22 years old, Ramos (11-1) already has two UFC victories under his belt. In his debut last year, he topped Michinori Takana via decision, adding a third round knockout of Aiemann Zahabi to his resume.

That finish earned Ramos a “Performance of the Night” bonus from New York City and Madison Square Garden at UFC 217 when he landed a spinning back elbow.

Ramos fought Manny Vazquez in 2016 for the Legacy FC bantamweight title, suffering his lone loss. He is a former Elite Fighting Champion in the bantamweight division and trains with the Black Sheep MMA team out of Brazil.

Kang, eight years the elder of his opponent, has picked up three consecutive wins around a four-year gap in fighting. This past January, he locked up a triangle choke on Guido Cannetti to improve to 14-7 overall.

Before that, Kang and Tanaka shared “Fight of the Night” honors in 2014, with Kang claiming the split decision.

He’s also fought the likes of Chico Camus, Alex Caceres and Andrew Leone during his career, which dates back to 2007. Kang won the ROAD FC bantamweight title and bantamweight tournament, and was also the winner of the Spirit Martial Challenge.

Combined, these two own 23 finishes during their careers. And with the chance to impress their bosses, look for both Ramos and Kang to go all-out on UFC Fight Pass from Los Angeles’ Staples Center this Saturday night.
