Georges St-Pierre is getting the gang back together.
The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion will finally make his return to mixed martial arts (MMA) this fall when he collides with reigning middleweight kingpin Michael Bisping.
And he’s bringing a familiar face with him:
“We’ve made a deal, I’m going to fly up to Montreal at least three days every week until the fight, and I’ll work with him every day I’m up there,” revered boxing coach Freddie Roach told The MMA Hour. “After [the] Miguel (Cotto) fight, we’re going to make the arrangements, so I’m going to be up there (in Montreal) maybe the whole month of October almost.”
Roach previously worked with St-Pierre during his welterweight heyday.
St-Pierre and Bisping will headline the UFC 217 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Sat., Nov. 11, 2017 inside Madison Square Garden in New York City (details). The winner is expected to face this guy after the dust settles in “The City That Never Sleeps.”
Unless this happens.
