The flyweights will be in full effect this winter as former UFC title challenger Tim Elliott takes on talented striker Justin Scoggins at UFC on FOX 26 on Dec. 16 live on FOX from inside MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, per an official UFC announcement earlier this week.
Elliott, 30, is coming off a crushing submission loss to Ben Nguyen back at UFC Fight Night 110. The former Ultimate Fighter winner is just 1-2 since rejoining the promotion last year and losing to UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson in his first fight back. Elliott is one of the more well-rounded talents at 125 pounds, but he really needs a spectacular performance to reenter the title hunt in 2018.
Scoggins, 25, is currently riding a two-fight losing streak after being submitted by bantamweight Pedro Munhoz back in 2016 and then getting tapped again by Ulka Sasaki in his return to flyweight this past June. The ambidextrous Karate kid last tasted victory when he knocked off Ray Borg via decision back at UFC Fight Night 82.
UFC on FOX 26 currently has no main event, but will also feature a light heavyweight scrap between Brazilian legend Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and rising contender Jared Cannonier.
