It was a momentous return to the Octagon for Luan Chagas earlier tonight (Sat., June 3, 2017) at UFC 212 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After Chagas battled counterpart Jim Wallhead for the better part of two rounds, the rising welterweight prospect took matters into his own hands. Chagas landed an unorthodox backhand uppercut followed by a short left hook inside that stunned Wallhead. The Englishmand dropped to the canvas and Chagas leaped on his back. From there, the Brazilian sunk in a rear-naked choke finish that forced Wallhead to tap and drop his second consecutive Octagon appearance.

The memorable finish can be seen below courtesy of UFC.

With this win, Chagas lands his first UFC victory. He still has a lot of work to do at 23 years of age, but the Brazilian submission specialist will be a name to watch in 2018.
