The UFC’s women’s bantamweight division found a new top contender earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 9, 2017) at UFC 215 from inside Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, as undefeated Brazilian Ketlen Vieira submitted Olympic medalist and former title challenger Sara McMann. While Vieira had to defend off her back for the majority of the fight, she was able to score her own takedown in Round 2 and work her way into optimal position. From half guard, and across McMann’s body, Vieira locked in a perfected arm-triangle choke that forced McMann to tap.

With this win, Vieira not only remains undefeated but she locks down a huge divisional win that will catapult her into the top 10. The Brazilian is super talented on the feet and showed this weekend that she can out-point some of the best grapplers in the division, too.
