Vitor Belfort and Lyoto Machida are in the works for the May 12 card from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. A bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington is also being targeted as the main event.
Belfort is scheduled to retire following the fight, as he was expected to do the same earlier this year after facing Uriah Hall. That bout, though, was scrapped when Hall was unable to weigh in for the contest.
Machida snapped a three-fight losing skid when he topped Eryk Anders earlier this month in his home country of Brazil.
Below is the current UFC 224 fight card:
Middleweight: Lyoto Machida vs. Vitor Belfort
Lightweight: Davi Ramos vs. Nick Hein
Welterweight: Alberto Mina vs. Ramazan Emeev
Heavyweight: Aleksei Oliynik vs. Junior Albini
