The pesky injury bug has already struck UFC 212, which goes down on June 3 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as lightweight prospect Olivier Aubin-Mercier has been forced to withdraw from his bout with Leonardo Santos due to an undisclosed injury.

UFC announced the news on Thursday.

Olivier Aubin-Mercier, 28, is one of the better Canadian prospects in MMA right now. Since entering the promotion back in 2014, “The Quebec Kid” has compiled a 5-2 record with four submission finishes. He was aiming to win his third-straight fight at UFC 212.

Santos, 37, remains one of the most overlooked names in the UFC’s 155-pound division. The streaking Brazilian has compiled a 5-0-1 record since entering the organization back in 2013 and hasn’t lost a fight dating back to 2009 (10-0-1 during that streak). UFC 212 would have marked the first time Santos has competed in Brazil since he submitted Tony Martin back in 2015.

UFC 212 will feature a featherweight title unification bout between current champion Jose Aldo and interim king Max Holloway.
