Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight slugger, Mike Perry, was forced to plan for a new opponent, Alex Reyes, when Thiago Alves dropped out at the last minute.

More on that drama here.

The way Perry sees it, his decision to give Reyes an opportunity is a way to pay it forward; meaning, he should get an opportunity of his own when all is said and done this weekend in “Steel City.”

A “Ruthless” opportunity.

“After this, I want to fight a top-10 guy,” Perry told ESPN. “Robbie Lawler, that’s who I want to fight. He’s an ex-champion. I like his style. I want to fight somebody who wants to fight, not somebody who pulls out three days before.”

I’d watch.

Perry and Reyes will collide at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 116 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, taking place inside PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
