Back in December, Max Holloway was scheduled to defend his featherweight title vs. Frankie Edgar at UFC 218.
After Edgar was forced out with an injury, Holloway went on to defeat Jose Aldo for a second time.
Now, Holloway and Edgar will finally square off, as the two are set for UFC 222 on March 3 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The 26-year-old Holloway (19-3) has reeled off 12 consecutive victories since falling to current UFC lightweight titleholder Conor McGregor via decision. That includes two 2017 third-round TKOs vs. Aldo, along with wins over former UFC champion Anthony Pettis, former title challenger Ricardo Lamas, Jeremy Stephens and Cub Swanson.

Edgar, 10 years the elder of Holloway, is 2-0 since a 2016 decision loss to Aldo. In May, he stopped Yair Rodriguez via TKO in the second round following a decision win vs. Stephens in 2016.
“There’s no point in trying to rush fate,” Edgar posted on social media. “The best things in life are worth the wait.”
“The Answer” also failed in his first attempt to win the featherweight title from Aldo back in 2013. He is currently 0-4 in his last four championship matches inside the Octagon.
Other bouts set for UFC 222 include C.B. Dollaway vs. former Bellator champion Hector Lombard, Stefan Struve vs. ex-UFC champion Andrei Arlovski and the Octagon debut of Mackenzie Dern against Ashley Yoder.
