According to a report by MMA Weekly’s Damon Martin, Matt Brown has suffered a torn ACL and is out of a planned fight with Carlos Condit.
The two welterweights were scheduled for the co-main event of UFC on FOX 29 from Glendale, Arizona. Justin Gaethje vs. Dustin Poirier is locked in as the headliner.
Brown, who announced plans to retire following a knockout win over Diego Sanchez last year, opted to return to take on the former interim UFC welterweight champion.
The 33-year-old Condit (30-11) has lost each of his last three. He returned from a year-long layoff in December, but was topped by Neil Magny. During his career, Condit has bested the likes of Martin Kampmann, Nick Diaz, Bellator champion Rory MacDonald and Dan Hardy.
Brown (21-16) snapped a three-fight losing skid with his win over Sanchez. From 2012-2014, he scored seven consecutive wins, including a decision over Stephen Thompson.
Back in 2013, Brown and Condit were penciled in for a bout, but an injury to Brown also scrapped those plans.
