While key information is unknown, the main event for UFC on FOX 29 has been confirmed.

Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier will square off in a possible “Fight of the Year” bout this April 14 at UFC on FOX 29. No location or venue has been announced yet for the card.

Gaethje (18-1) is coming off his first career loss, as he was stopped in the third round by former UFC and Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

A former World Series of Fighting 155-pound champion himself, Gaethje made his Octagon debut last summer, stopping Michael Johnson in the second round in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale.

Both of Gaethje’s bouts with Johnson and Alvarez made many short lists for the best fights of 2017.

Poirier (22-5) has posted a 6-1 record with one no-contest over his last eight fights. That includes a win to close out last year when he stopped ex-UFC champion Anthony Pettis in the third round.

Overall, “The Diamond” has headlined four UFC events.
