Longtime kickboxing specialist Gokhan Saki recently signed a longterm contract with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after parting ways with the GLORY Kickboxing promotion earlier this year.

More on how that transpired here.

Saki will make his Octagon debut against light heavyweight “Frankenstein” Henrique da Silva at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 116 event, scheduled for Sat., Sept. 23, 2017 inside Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

“You wanted me, now you got me.” Saki wrote on Twitter. “Gonna give my fans a knockout, and my haters a shut the fuck up.”

Despite 83 wins on the kickboxing circuit, which includes victories over the likes of Tyrone Spong and Melvin Manhoef, among others, “The Rebel” is just 0-1 inside the cage, but hasn’t competed in MMA since 2004.

Da Silva, on the other hand, is 12-3 overall but coming off three consecutive losses, the most recent of which ended by violent, first-round knockout. I don’t want to say this is a set up, but it has that Cro Cop vs. Eddie Sanchez feel to it.

Not that I’m complaining.
