The combat action went down early today (Sat., Oct. 14, 2017) at GLORY 46 from inside the Guangzhou Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China, as former UFC heavyweight contender Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva made his professional kickboxing debut against world-class striker Rico Verhoeven.

Luckily for fight fans, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) aired the entire Superfight Series on YouTube for free. The full video replay can be seen above.

As for Verhoeven vs. Silva, that starts at around the 2:09:00 mark and features an absolute one-sided beatdown at the hands of the Dutchman. Silva tried to attack Verhoeven with aggressive combinations, but the GLORY veteran simply did too much damage with early leg kicks.

In Round 2, Verhoeven caught Silva with a massive head kick that dropped the aging Brazilian. “Bigfoot” would return to his feet only to have Verhoeven land a barrage of strikes along the ropes before the referee jumped in for the TKO stoppage, thus ending Silva’s debut in decisive fashion.

While nobody really expected Silva to jump into the world of kickboxing and knock off one of the best fighters in the world in his debut, this outing was pretty disappointing. The seasoned mixed martial artist looked slow and incapable of defending most shots, leading us to believe his kickboxing career may be short lived.
