Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal is a top fighter in Strikeforce’s light heavyweight division, and is a former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion. He is a former NCAA National collegiate wrestling champion with Central Oklahoma and a Texas State Wrestling Champion with Plano East.

Lawal was at one point recruited to join World Wrestling Entertainment, but chose to join MMA instead. He fought his debut at heavyweight, and has alternated between competing at heavyweight and light heavyweight. He made his Strikeforce debut at Strikeforce: Evolution on December 19, 2009, defeating heavyweight veteran Mike Whitehead at 3:08 of Round 1.

He defeated Gegard Mousasi for the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Championship at Strikeforce: Nashville on April 17, 2010. He went on to lose the title in his first defense to Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante at Strikeforce: Houston on August 21, 2010.
