Former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez appears to have a new contract.

Alvarez posted on Twitter that he will “see” Dustin Poirier in Calgary at UFC on FOX 30. He had previously stated that he wouldn’t return to action until the promotion offered him a new deal.

Alvarez and Poirier fought at UFC 211 last year with the bout ending in a no-contest after Alvarez struck Poirier with an illegal knee.

This past December, Alvarez returned to action, scoring a knockout win over Justin Gaethje. Poirier, who also bested Gaethje in April, picked up a 2017 victory vs. Anthony Pettis after the no-contest.
