A transplant from New Orleans, Derrick Lewis now calls Houston is fighting home.

Sunday night at UFC Fight Night 126, Lewis rallied for a third round knockout victory over Marcin Tybura from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. The fight served as the co-main event.

“That’s the way I fight,” Lewis said. “That’s the way I do it.”

Lewis rebounded from a 2017 loss to Mark Hunt, picking up his 19th career win. He is now 7-1 over his last eight fights, finishing six of those opponents.

“I just believed in myself,” he said. “I just had to touch him one more time. Those boys from Texas can hit.”

He has now scored wins over Tybura, Travis Browne, Roy Nelson and Gabriel Gonzaga. Lewis has stopped five of his 17 knockout victims in the third or fourth rounds of action.
