With a pair of simple hand gestures and a successful weigh-ins, Darren Till showed he is ready to challenge Tyron Woodley for the welterweight title Saturday night at UFC 228.

Till successfully weighed in for his bout on Friday, hitting the scale at 169 pounds – a pound under the maximum for the title fight to be made official. There was plenty of talk this week about Till missing weight after he was heavy for his fight earlier this year with Stephen Thompson.

The unbeaten fighter promised to also deliver a message to those that believed he would miss weight, flipping the crowd off while on the scale.

It was actually a little more dramatic for Woodley, as the champion was over on his first attempt at 171. Officials brought out the towel and he hit 170, making it official and on from Dallas.

Kamaru Usman did also make weight, as he is on stand-by as an alternate for the main event should anything happen to Woodley or Till.

While all was good on the main event front, the co-main event was called off after female flyweight champion Nicco Montano was sent to the hospital Friday morning.

Montano, who captured the inaugural title last year, was expected to make her first title defense vs. Valentina Shevchenko. Shevchenko, a former title challenger at bantamweight, successfully made weight for the bout.

A statement was released by the UFC:

“As a precautionary measure, UFC flyweight Nicco Montaño was transported to a medical facility Friday morning due to health concerns. The scheduled championship bout between Montaño and Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 228 has been cancelled.”

The ceremonial weigh-ins will stream live right here on FightLine in the video above.
