January is an emotional month for former UFC title challenger Cat Zingano.
Her husband, Mauricio Zingano, committed suicide back in 2014, leaving her and son Brayden behind.
“Complicated emotions today at 4 years out,” Zingano posted on Twitter. “Thank you for the good times and for all you taught me, and thank you to my supporters for giving me a lot to believe in.”
Zingano would go on to defeat current UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes a few short months later, earning her a 2015 title shot with Ronda Rousey.
