A.J. McKee wanted to make a statement, and that’s exactly what he did Friday night at Bellator 205.
The promising featherweight finished John Macapa in the first round in the main event live on Paramount Network and DAZN. The card took place from the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho.
With the win, McKee is now a perfect 12-0 – with all 12 fights coming under the Bellator banner.
Featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire is set to defend his title in November at Bellator 209 vs. Emmanuel Sanchez, and if he is successful, McKee just might be his next opponent in 2019.
Rafael Lovato Jr. submitted John Salter in the third round, Veta Arteaga tapped Denise Kielholtz in the second and Patricky “Pitbull” Freire knocked out Roger Huerta to complete the main card.
Johnny Nunez, Vince Morales, Steve Mowry, Adam Borics and Jarod Trice were among the prelim winners.
