Matt Mitrione earned himself a spot in the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix with a decision win over Roy Nelson Friday night at Bellator 194.
Mitrione earned two of the three scorecards, with the other declaring the fight a draw.

Mitrione joins Chael Sonnen in the semis of the grand prix with two matches left.
Patricky “Pitbull” Freire likely cemented his status as the next contender in the lightweight division, finishing Derek Campos in the co-main event.
Freire, a two-time tournament runner-up, has earned three consecutive wins over Campos, Benson Henderson and Josh Thomson. He is 5-1 over his last six with three finishes.
Heather Hardy took the first of two matchups with Ana Julaton, scoring a decision victory. The two will meet later this year inside the boxing ring.
Hardy, who is 2-1 in MMA, is 20-0 with one no-contest in boxing. Julaton, with a 2-4 MMA record, is 14-4-1 in boxing.
Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary was stopped in the third round by Vadim Nemkov and Tywan Claxton scored a second round finish over Jose Perez to open the Paramount Network main card.
