An imposing former title contender is anxiously awaiting Luke Rockhold’s move to the light heavyweight division if the former champion decides that is his next move.

Alexander Gustafsson took to social media to make sure Rockhold knows he is ready for him if he does move up from 185 pounds to 205 in the future.

Rockhold was finished by Yoel Romero this past weekend at UFC 221, suffering a third round loss. Gustafsson, sidelined since early in 2017 after opting for shoulder surgery following a win over Glover Teixeira, wanted a meeting with reigning champion Daniel Cormier.

Instead, he’ll settle for his sometimes-AKA teammate Rockhold.

“Luke Rockhold, your teammate is holding MY Division hostage, and you think there are only easy fights at LHW. If u think Romero hits hard, then wait till you come to the big boys. I want Daniel Cormier, and knocking u out will keep me warm in the meantime. Beware of coming up in weight because I will be standing at the front door waiting.”
