Stephanie Eggink and Angela Magana have a chance to become the first XFC strawweight champion this Friday. As for Eggink, she knows a win means more attention and wouldn’t mind competing in two weight classes.
“This will be my third fight for the XFC and I have two more for them, so I hope to defend the belt for those two times and go from there,” said Eggink to MMA Weekly. “I’ve talked to [XFC president] John Prisco about fighting at 125 a couple of times, and I would be more than happy to hold the belt in the 115 and 125 weight classes.”
Before thinking about taking fights in two weight classes, Eggink must deal with the 11-5 Angela Magana.
Magana will be returning after a 13 month layoff as she debuts for XFC. She was defeated by Jessica Eye in her last fight.
Eggink is undefeated in the XFC with a pair of wins. The most recent was a decision in April.
XFC 25 is September 6 and comes from the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico. The main card can be seen on AXS TV.
