Ricky Rainey understands few people can simply join the UFC and is fine competing for XFC as he looks to make a name for himself. The welterweight will attempt to elevate his stock against Dhiego Lima at XFC 25.
“All I really care about is getting the W,” said Rainey to MMA Weekly. “If I get the win, everything else falls into place. As long as I’m getting my name out there, showing people that I am a real fighter, then there’s no place I really can’t go.”
In 2012, Rainey unsuccessfully debuted for the XFC. He’s taken three wins since then, which includes a pair of first round stoppages.
Lima is 8-1 as he debuts for the promotion. He has spent a few years for Canada’s MFC.
They’re on the main card of Friday’s XFC 25. It comes from the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico and airs live on AXS TV.
