Rousimar Palhares successfully passed his pre-fight drug test, clearing the way for his Saturday title fight at World Series of Fighting 9 against Steve Carl.
WSOF president Ray Sefo confirmed on Twitter that he is “clear to fight Saturday.”
Of course, both Palhares and Carl still need to successfully weigh in on Friday to make the welterweight title match official.
Palhares (15-5) was forced to undergo testing due to a previous failed drug test for elevated testosterone levels. He was released from the UFC after defeating Mike Pierce, but not releasing the heel hook he applied in a timely fashion.
Carl (21-3) is on a seven-fight win streak that includes all seven victories via submission.
