Georgi Karakhanyan was able to take a quick submission over Waylon Lowe at World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 5, but is giving his opponent tons of credit.
“I think he could beat the whole [WSOF featherweight] division except me,” said Karakhanyan on Sherdog Radio. “I went out there and I fought a good fight and beat him. I caught him in that guillotine.”
It was a guillotine that improved Karakhanyan to 22-3. He took his eighth straight win in what was also his WSOF debut.
Lowe was released by the UFC in 2011 after posting a 2-2 record. The defeats were against longtime UFC fighters Melvin Guillard and Nik Lentz.
WSOF 5 was September 14 and came from Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
