Former UFC fighter Will Chope is hoping a show of support from his ex-wife will lead to a return to the Octagon.
Chope was removed from a planned fight last month against Diego Brandao the day of the card after a report was released detailing his domestic violence charges with Ashleigh, his now ex-wife.
The fighter was given a Bad Conduct Discharge from the Air Force and sentenced to five months imprisonment in 2011. He did fight for the UFC before the issues were brought to light.
“I hold no ill grudge against the UFC,” Chope said in the video, which you can view below. “I understand what they’re doing. They’re protecting their brand. They don’t want a guy who has domestic violence on the record fighting in the UFC and I get that.
“I hope now that they have all the details and all the facts…..they would reconsider.”
The two are now friends and stated that all has been forgiven concerning the incident.
