Bellator is not having a good week. They moved their first pay-per-view card to free TV as Tito Ortiz, who was one half of the original main event, suffered an injury. The decision also required the main card of that show to be changed.
The Season 9 heavyweight tournament was moved to Bellator 107 because of the change, but now it looks off as Vinicius Queiroz has an ACL injury. He was scheduled to meet Cheick Kongo.
“I was really excited to fight Kongo, but I injured my knee and won’t be able to fight now,” said Queiroz to MMA Fighting. “I’m devastated.”
There is no timetable set for his return. Queiroz made it to the finals with a 23 second knockout of Lavar Johnson earlier in the month.
No word on what Bellator will do now.
