Season 9 of Bellator started this past Saturday with a main card that will dictate the future of the middleweight division. It all went down at Bellator 98, which saw 22 fighters in action.
The show was headlined with middleweight champ Alexander Shlemenko getting a decision over Brett Cooper in a slugfest. The middleweight tournament started with four entrants left in Mikkel Parlo, Jason Butcher, Brennan Ward and Perry Filkins.
All five prelim fights ended in the first round.
Bellator 98 came from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on September 7. The main card aired live on Spike TV and there are still 11 more shows for Season 9.
