Urijah Faber looks at the situation with Dominick Cruz from both sides. While Cruz is the bantamweight champ, he hasn’t defended the title in two years due to an ACL injury.
“I can kind of see a case for, I don’t know if you strip him, but you have to have the conversation,” said Faber on The MMA Hour. “Right now [Renan] Barao is the man. Dominick is the man also. It’s hard to say. You have to let everyone fight.”
Barao is the current interim champion and has defended the belt twice. He’s hoping to unify the title with Cruz in early 2013. Cruz is yet to be cleared for a fight.
Faber has taken three wins since a defeat to Barao. All the wins came this year with the last being a decision over Iuri Alcantara at UFC Fight Night 26.
