For the second time in three fights, somebody other than Uriah Hall stopped his bout.
Hall, a former finalist on The Ultimate Fighter, earned a first round TKO victory over Ron Stallings at UFC Fight Night 59 after the doctor stopped the bout. Last year, the same thing happened in his fight over Chris Leben when Leben decided to no longer continue.
Hall (11-4) earned his third straight victory and is now 3-2 with the UFC. He proceeded to call-out his originally scheduled opponent Costas Philippou after.
“Costas punked out, but I am going to beat him up in April,” he said. “That was for you. I am gonna bust you up for that.”
The New York-native gave credit to Stallings (12-7) for agreeing to take the fight on just a number of days. He replaced Louis Taylor, who replaced Philippou.
“I have a lot of respect for him,” Hall said.
