UFC president Dana White put forth a new wrinkle into The Ultimate Fighter 22 Wednesday night during the second episode, allowing both Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber to bring back an eliminated fighter.
McGregor selected training partner Artem Lobov, while Faber picked Johnny Nunez. With the additions, nine preliminary round matches will take place, and White will determine which of the nine winners does not advance to the quarterfinals.
The first fight went down, as Ryan Hall picked up a first round submission for Team Faber over Frantz Slioa. Also, Chris Gruetzemacher will represent Team Faber vs. Team McGregor’s Sasha Sharma on next Wednesday’s episode.
