Tecia Torres took full-advantage of her second opportunity, earning a decision victory over Bec Rawlings on Wednesday night’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter 20 and advancing to the quarterfinals.
Previously, Torres lost to Randa Markos in an upset, but a knee injury to Justine Kish opened the door for her return.
With the win, Torres now faces No. 1 seed Carla Esparza in a battle of fighters under the direction of Anthony Pettis. The UFC lightweight champion has seven of the eight spots, as Torres was moved from Team Gilbert Melendez after re-entering.
The remaining match ups will see Felice Herrig fight Markos, Jessica Penne meet Aisling Daly and Joanne Calderwood battle Rose Namajunas. Namajunas is the lone Team Melendez representative.
