UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis is a perfect 2-for-2 through the early stages of The Ultimate Fighter 20, as No. 2 seed Joanne Calderwood earned a win over Emily Kagan on Wednesday night’s episode.
Calderwood, representing Team Pettis, picked up a majority decision over the 15th-seeded Kagan from Team Gilbert Melendez. Two of the three judges scored it 20-18 for Calderwood, while the other had it 19-19.
The next fight will see Jessica Penne, a former Invicta FC champion, go up against Lisa Ellis. Penne, of Team Pettis, is the No. 4 seed. In the first episode, third-seeded Tecia Torres was upset by Randa Markos.
The series airs Wednesday night on FOX Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET. The first-ever UFC female strawweight champion will be crowned in December at The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale from Las Vegas. Pettis and Melendez are set for the co-main event that same month at UFC 181.
