UFC and Bellator MMA veteran Dave Herman was arrested after taking officers in Indiana on a three-mile pursuit early Tuesday morning.
According to a Facebook post by the Dekalb County Sherriff’s Department, Herman was charged with resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, which is a level six felony, battery against law enforcement, neglect of a dependent and resisting arrest.
Herman was spotted driving without headlights or taillights at 1:13 a.m. and at a high rate of speed. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but he refused. When Herman exited the vehicle, he “approached officers in an aggressive manner,” according to the report.
Herman (22-6) last fought in May, defeating Kalib Starnes for Titan FC. He fought for the UFC numerous times between 2011-13 after fighting for Bellator, Shark Fights and several other promotions.
Titan FC officials had booked Herman for a heavyweight title fight late in 2014, but the card was postponed and Herman eventually removed due to injury.
