“UFC Tonight” returned Wednesday night after a two-week hiatus and brought with it some important information, including the official announcement of Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano at UFC 182 for the female bantamweight title.
But, that wasn’t all. Ariel Helwani also reported the latest on Georges St-Pierre, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Yoel Romero.
St-Pierre, who’s name has been in the news thanks to his return to training and a visit by Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta, stepped away from the sport in late 2013. So far, there have been no new talks regarding his return.
“His coach tweeted out picture of him training. He’s been cleared to train. He told me his first day back in the gym was humiliating, but he felt better than last time he came back from an ACL injury. On his recent meeting with Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta, he said it was a great meeting. They laughed a lot. But he said they didn’t try to talk him back to fighting.”
