The UFC welterweight division is a little larger with the addition of Hernani Perpetuo. The signing came two months after winning the Shooto world title.
“I have to win my first fight and then climb the rankings step by step,” said Perpetuo to MMA Fighting. “The Shooto title was very important to open doors and get me in the UFC.”
Perpetuo is 17-3 and turned pro in 2005. He wasn’t that active until joining Shooto in 2007. He last got the decision from Tommy Depret for the Shooto title in August.
The 28-year-old Bazillion expects to debut in early 2014.
