UFC Rankings: Little Movement Following UFC 179

The latest edition of the UFC rankings were released following the conclusion of UFC 179 this past weekend, and the divisions saw little change among them.

Jose Aldo, who defended his featherweight title with a decision victory over Chad Mendes, remained No. 2 in the pound-for-pound Top-15 behind only Jon Jones. Ronda Rousey and Johny Hendricks, champions in their respective divisions, flipped for eighth, while Dominick Cruz and Daniel Cormier both passed Alexander Gustafsson for 13th and 14th overall.

At bantamweight, Eddie Wineland moved up to sixth, one spot ahead of Takeya Mizugaki. The featherweight ranks saw Dustin Poirier, Dennis Bermudez and Dennis Siver all climb a spot each, while Chan Sung Jung dropped two and Nik Lentz fell one.

Nate Diaz passed Rustam Khabilov for 14th at lightweight, Dong Hyun Kim fell to 10th at welterweight and Tim Boetsch moved past Mark Munoz for 14th at middleweight.

The light heavyweight ranks saw plenty of changes, as Anthony Johnson moved to third behind only Jones, Gustafsson and Cormier, while Phil Davis and Dan Henderson each bumped up a spot. Rashad Evans dropped to fourth, Glover Teixeira fell to sixth and Ryan Bader was slotted eighth.

Fabio Maldonado moved ahead of Vitor Belfort for 14th at 205 pounds, as well.
