UFC president Dana White gave his post-fight thoughts on UFC 209 to FOX Sports 1 over the weekend.
The event featured Tyron Woodley besting Stephen Thompson for the welterweight title, along with Alistair Overeem finishing Mark Hunt.
White also discussed what the plans are for Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson moving forward.
White on how he scored Woodley vs. Thompson: “I had it 3-2 for Wonderboy. I didn’t think it was going to be a draw. One of the judges scored the last 10-8 and that’s insane. But the fans and I are not the judges. Tyron is the champ. The judges called him the winner.”
White on Overeem beating Hunt: “I didn’t think the fight was going to happen. Overeem had food poisoning and went to the hospital today. But he wanted to fight tonight. I have so much respect for him. And he knocks out Mark Hunt feeling that way.”
White on if the UFC will rebook Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson: “I don’t know. We have to see how Khabib will rebound. It’ll take him a while to heal from this weigh cut.”
