If we are to believe a post on Twitter from UFC president Dana White, the plans are for Eddie Alvarez to defend his lightweight title against Khabib Nurmagomedov and not Conor McGregor next.
Alvarez and Nurmagomedov were both active on social media late Tuesday night, with the reigning champion calling out Conor McGregor for a fight.
Nurmagomedov, unbeaten in his career, joined the conversation and stated his claim for a fight with Alvarez.
Me and Dana just waiting for Eddie to sign. I promise I will finish you fast and with no pain. https://t.co/4Zv9j8xejZ
