UFC On FOX 9: Demetrious Johnson Vs. Joseph Benavidez

Demetrious Johnson (c) vs. Joseph Benavidez for the UFC flyweight championship

The main event is on deck, featuring UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson defending his belt against Joseph Benavidez. This is a rematch of the tournament final to crown the first-ever UFC 125-pound champ, a bout “Mighty Mouse” won via split decision.

Johnson (18-2-1) is unbeaten in his last five, going 4-0-1. His last loss came in 2011 to UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.

Benavidez (19-3) has picked up three straight wins, two via TKO, to secure another shot at Johnson. His only other two losses came to Cruz when they were both in the WEC.

Round 1: Benavidez rockets off a nice kick as Johnson is pinned against the fence, and lands a counter kick, as well. Johnson comes over the top with a left and these two are picking up where they left off over a year ago. OH MY GOD! Johnson just landed and Benavidez is completely out. As in out dead cold! He becomes the first fighter to stop Benavidez. A huge right hand connected that dropped Benavidez and a series of shots ensued before the ref could step in.
