Abel Trujillo vs. Roger Bowling
Our first of four lightweight fights on the prelim card will see Abel Trujillo square off with Roger Bowling. This is a rematch of an August encounter that ended in a no-contest between Trujillo (10-5) and Bowling (11-4).
Round 1: Bowling and Trujillo are exchanging, as these two are pretty familiar with one another. Trujillo grabs hold of him and is working to drag Bowling to the ground, but he withstands and looks for a guillotine up against the fence. Nice sprawl by Bowling allows him to flip Trujillo to his back and has a possible guillotine choke, maybe head-and-arm choke. Back to the guillotine is Bowling, but he’s unable to secure it. Trujillo comes out firing, landing a big knee and multiple shots that really connect. Bowling, though, has proven he can take a shot – and he has done so again in this one already. Huge knee inside the clinch by Trujillo, as Bowling has some damage around his right eye. A left by Trujillo, another right and Bowling is getting picked apart. Trujillo on top of him now, hammering down with big strikes.
FightLine scores the round 10-9 for Trujillo
Round 2: Trujillo once again on top and in control to start this round, landing a huge knee to the body as Bowling gets to his feet. Again, Trujillo takes him down. Bowling looking for a potential choke, but Trujillo’s too powerful and gets out of it with ease. Trujillo is teeing off now, as Bowling is getting dominated with lefts and rights. Trujillo continues as Bowling gets to his feet and the ref steps in, as he has seen enough.
