The UFC heads to Sweden for UFC on FOX 14 this Saturday night, as Alexander Gustafsson takes on Anthony Johnson.
The four-fight FOX-televised main card features a healthy dose of interest, including Gustafsson-Johnson. The winner becomes the No. 1 contender to light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
Along with that fight, Dan Henderson takes on Gegard Mousasi and Phil Davis meets Ryan Bader.
Here’s a look at three things to watch for this weekend:
Will Gustafsson reach or Johnson’s power reign supreme?
In 2013, Gustafsson went the distance with Jones, almost becoming the champion. Many expected an immediate rematch, but both were given other opponents last year; with each earning wins.
Officials paired Gustafsson and Jones up, but a knee injury scrapped that. Now, “The Mauler” must get past a resurgent “Rumble” to earn his shot at Jones, again.
He’ll have a good reach advantage and the home-arena crowd behind him, but Johnson has looked like a new man since returning to the UFC. He’s taken care of both Davis and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira with ease, and would like nothing more than to do the same to Gustafsson.
