With a dominating performance over Travis Browne, Fabricio Werdum left no second thoughts in the minds of MMA fans that he is the No. 1 contender to the UFC heavyweight title.
Werdum dominated Browne in the main event of UFC on FOX 11 Saturday night from Orlando, earning a decision victory. He landed almost 100 more strikes and doubled-up Browne on the significant strikes connected upon.
Werdum (18-5-1) is a perfect 4-0 since returning to the UFC and will likely face UFC champion Cain Velasquez later this year in Mexico.
In the co-main, Miesha Tate earned her first UFC victory after losses to Cat Zingano and UFC female champion Ronda Rousey by besting Liz Carmouche in a battle of former contenders.
Donald Cerrone submitted Edson Barboza with a rear-naked choke that he transitioned to after knocking him down, while Yoel Romero dominated Brad Tavares to open the main card.
