As many expected would be the case, Duffee came out aggressively in the main event, but the powerful fighter was quickly greeted by a hard counter from Mir. After being momentarily stunned, Duffee came charging back, but as he did, Mir flatted him a left hook.
The KO win is Mir’s second this year, as in February, the noted finisher also took out “Bigfoot” Silva in the opening round.
The card’s co-headliner featured a lightweight scrap between Josh Thomson and Anthony Ferguson, and the latter badly outscored the decorated vet.
Thomson picked away at Thomson with kicks and punches, and in round two, he hurt the latter with cracking standing elbow. A bloodied Thomson valiantly fought on, but Ferguson worked his way to a unanimous decision win.
The fight of the night was a welterweight scrap between Alan Jouban and Matt Dwyer, as the fighters went to war for three rounds. Jouban came roaring back from a early knockdown, and outscored Dwyer for the UD win.
