Alexis Davis isn’t in a title fight today, but it feels like one to her. She takes on former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Liz Carmouche.
“This is a really big fight for me,” said Davis. “She is one of the top fighters, had her title shot, and this is a huge opportunity. It’s almost as if this is my title fight. This right now is my title fight.”
There’s no gold being decided but an impressive win for Davis could put her in the title hunt. She’s 14-5 and took a decision from Rosi Sexton in her UFC debut.
Carmouche is 1-1 for the UFC since stopping Jessica Andrade. She famously took part in the first WMMA bout in the UFC’s history when she tapped to champion Ronda Rousey.
